Pirate Wire Services is launching a much anticipated daily briefings newsletter
PWS was meant to be what journalistic Wire Services were in their original sense of the word — a public source of firsthand news in the interest of global citizenry disseminated openly by independent local ad hoc street journos. And we’ve been doing weekly features in that vein for three years.
Now, we have decided to expand on that idea, adding breaking news to our repertoire.
At PWS we've always taken a fierce pride in our independence. We write from the perspective of professional freelancers beholden to no one. We accept money from no state, are sponsored by no billionaires, and work in service of no corporate interests.
With this new newsletter, we hope to bring you short dispatches and flash updates on breaking stories in Latin America daily— Monday through Friday.
We invite you on board. We're setting sail on a voyage that will take you across the region with speed, accuracy and a firm commitment to bringing truth to power.
We chose not to automatically subscribe all current readers to the daily briefings. Instead, we invite you to choose to be a part of it as we grow and cultivate an audience for our new endeavor and transition into a more formal newsroom environment.
The new format will be free for all readers and open for republication at interested orgs. But if you wanted to help support our efforts financially, well some mutual aid wouldn’t be turned down. A little help goes a long way in keeping this pirate ship afloat.
The PWS Daily LATAM Wire is at your service.
